On Childen's Day, Kotabaru encourages children's participation, creativity - ANTARA News Kalimantan Selatan

Kotabaru, S Kalimantan (ANTARA) - The Kotabaru Women Empowerment, Child Protection, Population Control and Family Planning Office (DP3AP2KB) is striving to enhance children's participation and creativity through the commemoration of National Children's Day (HAN) 2026.

The Kotabaru Expert Staff for Economic and Finance Akhmad Rajudinoor said that National Children's Day was a strategic momentum to strengthen joint commitment to ensure protection and fulfillment of children's rights.

The district government of Kotabaru continues to strive for the realization of child-friendly district through various programs, including the development of child-friendly school and child-friendly health service, as well as strengthening role of families in parenting.

Head of the Kotabaru DP3AP2KB Sri Sulistiyani said this year's HAN commemoration carries the theme “Dear Children, Protect them and Build the Future Towards Kotabaru Hebat.”

She said the event aims to raise awareness and concern of all elements of society on the importance of fulfilling children's rights, while encouraging children's active participation in development.

The 2026 HAN also featured various artistice and crative performance, such as dance by the Sanggar Intan Marikit, a theatrical performance by Sanggar Roman Kotabaru, and presentation of winner of Banjar language storytelling competition.

Other highlights included competitions of educational videos, essays, children innovation, as well as parade of Kotabaru child ambassadors to inspire younger generation.

Siti Umi Fajriyah, Head of Division II of Kotabaru TP PKK, emphasized that children protection is a shared responsibility.

“Children are assets of the nation that we must take care of and protect together, both by family, community, and the government,” she said.
