Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Agriculture Minister Sudaryono said the B50 biodiesel program supports President Prabowo Subianto's vision of achieving national energy self-sufficiency by maximizing the use of domestic resources.

"The President wants every program to deliver the best results as quickly as possible. These are large-scale initiatives implemented rapidly to produce tangible impacts. The potential for food and energy self-sufficiency must be translated into reality," Sudaryono said in a statement received on Monday.

He said the B50 biodiesel program and the government's food self-sufficiency initiative reflect President Prabowo's "Best Fast Result" approach, which emphasizes delivering rapid and meaningful outcomes.

According to Sudaryono, President Prabowo aims to build a self-reliant Indonesia by fully utilizing the country's vast potential, including its natural resources, agricultural land, and domestic energy reserves.

He said the implementation of B50 demonstrates Indonesia's ability to optimize the strength of its agricultural sector to enhance national energy security.

Under the policy, Indonesia no longer relies on imported diesel fuel. Half of the country's diesel fuel requirement is supplied by domestically produced petroleum, while the remaining 50 percent is blended with biodiesel derived from palm oil produced by Indonesian farmers.

"This demonstrates that an agrarian country like Indonesia can capitalize on its natural resources and the hard work of its farmers to achieve energy self-sufficiency," Sudaryono said.

He stressed that the government is committed to turning Indonesia's vast potential into concrete achievements through policies that are implemented swiftly, measurable in their outcomes, and capable of delivering direct benefits to the public.

"That is why the President consistently encourages every policy to be implemented quickly while producing the best possible results so that the public can enjoy the benefits as soon as possible," Sudaryono added.
